This tutorial will explain how to install FSXSave into P3D.
FSXSave is a freeware auto save addon, but currently works only for FSX.
Before we start, I want to clear out that I have not made this addon.
Since installing this requires the installer, which does not work with P3D, I have to upload the 2 required files myself.
Step 1: Downloading FSXSave
You will need to download the files from here. (http://www.mediafire.com/download/vw4de903d3gi311/FSXSave.zip)
Step 2: Add FSXSave to P3D
Move to your P3D main directory, for me it is at G:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3.
In that folder, there should be a folder called Modules, if it isn’t there, create it.
Now move into the Modules folder, and in that, create a folder named FSXSave.
Drop all files of FSXSave.zip you just downloaded into the newly created FSXSave folder.
The FSXSave folder should now have 4 files.
Now, copy the path of the newly created FSXSave folder. For me this is G:\Program Files (x86)\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3\Modules\FSXSave.
Step 3: Add FSXSave to P3D’s exe.xml
You should find the exe.xml in P3D’s ProgramData folder. For me it is at C:\ProgramData\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v3.
Now open the Add this into exe.xml.txt file included in FSXSave.zip you just downloaded.
Copy the contents of Add this into exe.xml.txt and paste them in the bottom of exe.xml, but above </SimBase.Document>.
Now change the string of text between <Path> and </Path> to the path of the newly created FSXSave folder you copied in the step before.
Now add \FSXSave.exe to the end of the path, but before </Path>. It should look like the following, however the path (white text) will be different!
It should always end in \FSXSave.exe.
Step 4: Configure FSXSave
Next time you open P3D, there should be an FSXSave sub menu in the Addons tab.
I hope you enjoy!
